Privacy, in plain words

Last updated October 14, 2026. The short version: we collect only what you send us and what a business already makes public, use it to reply and make your ad, never sell it, and delete enquiries after two years.

Who we are

Vif Studios makes short video ads and social content for businesses in Canada and the United States. Vif Studios is the marketing studio of Coral Moon Ventures Inc., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, which is responsible for your information. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Coral Moon Ventures Inc. and Vif Studios.

We follow Canada's federal privacy law for businesses, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Our Privacy Officer is accountable for how we handle personal information and can be reached at privacy@vifstudios.com.

What we collect

What you send us, through the contact form or by email:

  • your name, business name and email address
  • your phone number, if you choose to give it
  • your type of business
  • anything you tell us about your business
  • logos, colours or files you share for an ad

What a business already makes public, when we prepare a sample ad: its name, services, service area, hours and contact details as shown on its own website, map listing or printed materials.

What every website needs to work. Our host briefly processes your IP address to deliver pages and to stop the contact form being flooded with spam. We don't use it to identify you, and we run no analytics.

How we use it

To reply to you, to make the sample or ad you asked for, to prepare a quote, and to deliver the work if you become a client. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list. If we ever start a newsletter, you will have to tick a box to join it.

Sample ads you didn't ask for

Sometimes we make a free sample ad for a business before they have contacted us, to show what we could do for them. To make it, we use only information the business has already made public, such as its name, services and brand colours. Sometimes the opening shot is a photo of the outside of the business that we took ourselves from a public street, with no people or licence plates in it.

  • A sample never shows real people, staff or customers, and never pretends to show your premises.
  • Every sample is clearly marked as a sample and is sent only to the business it was made for, by email to the address the business publishes.
  • If you'd rather not hear from us, reply and say so, and we won't contact you again.
  • We don't publish a sample anywhere without that business's written permission.
  • If you received one and don't want it, tell us and we will delete it and the details we used to make it.

AI and your information

We use third-party AI services in our work: to make the scenes in our ads, and to help us write scripts, prepare quotes and draft replies. To make an ad, we give them what the ad needs, like your business name, what you do, your brand colours and the words in the script. When AI helps us reply to you, it may also process your message and contact details.

We use these services only to do the work you asked for, never to sell or profile you. A person shapes and approves every script, reads every reply before it is sent, and checks every ad before you see it. Nothing made with AI is published without your approval, and anything we show on our own site or channels that was made with AI is labelled.

Who receives it

These service providers handle information on our behalf, only for the purposes above:

  • Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the contact form.
  • Resend delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
  • Google Workspace is where our email and working files are kept.
  • AI services help us make ads and handle our work, as described above.
  • If you ask us to post for you, we use only the account access you give us, and you can remove it at any time.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under that country's laws. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to ours.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries, and samples that didn't lead to work, are deleted two years after our last contact.
  • A sample is deleted sooner if the business asks.
  • If you become a client, your project files are deleted two years after the work ends.
  • Invoices and billing records are kept for six years, because Canadian tax law requires it. We keep only what those records need.

How we protect it

This site only works over an encrypted connection, the contact form checks for spam, and access to your information is limited to the people doing your work. No method is perfect, but if a breach ever put your information at real risk, we would tell you and report it as the law requires.

Cookies and tracking

None. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads nothing from other companies' servers. Your visit isn't followed around the web by anything of ours.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email our Privacy Officer and we'll answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects information you've already given us in a meaningful way, we'll tell you before it applies.
